The Game of Thrones season 8 finale is the end of the HBO series and there will be no new episodes. However, the same cannot be said of the A Song of Ice and Fire books. By the time Game of Thrones reached season 6, the television series had already overtaken the books. Author George R.R. Martin hasn't finished writing A Song of Ice and Fire Too many lemon cakes. Before Sansa Stark became the Lady of Winterfell, she was a sweet, fanciful girl who loved lemon cakes. One scene involving Sansa (Sophie Turner) and her temperamental Aunt Lysa (Kate Dickie) found Sophie Turner having to eat an ungodly amount of lemon cakes. In fact, she often burns innocent to convey some kind of fearful admiration to people. Her obsession of making Jon "bend the knee" was kinda worrying. Just like how she threatened her advisors, even though they precisely spend most of the time couching for the innocents. I agree her descent was too quick. Okay, the show is based on a series of books that aren’t finished. Five books of seven planned have been released. Game of Thrones. HBO. More recently, HBO offered the showrunners more money and time to at least add more episodes to the final season, after eight seasons, the last two being shortened, was That's how I remember Game of Thrones. I think seasons 5 and even 6 are still good TV, but when Game of Thrones is compared to shows like Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, etc. The first 4 seasons are the only part of GoT that is on that level. The finale of season 4 is so good it kind of feels like an ending of its own. Which it is. Just got done rewatching the seventh season and I really enjoyed most of it. It was definitely rushed and needed 10 episodes like the seasons before it but I don’t think it’s anywhere near as bad as some make it out to be. 8 sucked and probably will suck again lol. In Game of Thrones case it was a deliberate decision. At the same time Season 8 took the longest to film out of any previous season. 10 whole months for 6 episodes. It could be argued they decided on 6 to concentrate their budgets on bigger episodes. Though who really knows.
